What you may not know is that he’s a serious film producer with a number of titles to his credit. Monument Nation is Shane’s latest directorial effort and includes plenty of amazing surfing, as you would expect.

What you may not expect is the child prodigy Kalani David, Hawaii’s newest Super Grom, who lights it up both in the water and on land. Slater’s claimed him heavily and he pulled a 540 at the 2007 X Games at the ripe old age of 9! This is Kalani’s first video part and you’re definitely going to be seeing a lot more of him in the future, so be one of the first to be in the know!

Little Kalani is backed up by Shane and his posse of rippers, including Puerto Rico’s Carlos Cabrero, Shannon ‘Hopper’ Eichstadt, Jason ‘Mags’ Magallenes and Sage Huls. Shane’s brother, the ever-creepy alien Gavin Beschen makes a cameo appearance and blows minds as always.

Monument Nation is a kick-ass movie and Shane’s done a great job giving it an artistic feeling without compromising the action. Big names, soon-to-be big names and underground rippers both surf and skate their way through this celluloid foundation to the Monument Nation.
