Quiksilver Mens Apparel was born in 1973 in Torquay, Victoria Australia by Alan Green and John Law, who went into business so that they could make a living and go surfing. Quiksilver started out producing quality boardshorts and wetsuits, and as their reputation grew, so did the demand. All the top surfers throughout the 70s wore Quiksilver boardshorts, as well as world professional surfing champion Kelly Slater.
Since 1976 Quiksilver has been sold and distributed in the United States through Quiksilver USA out of Huntington Beach, California. The company has become an icon in the surfing world, and is the title sponsor for several ASP world tour events including the first event at Snapper Rocks. Quiksilver, Inc. (NYSE:ZQK) is one of the world’s leading outdoor sports lifestyle companies, designing, producing and distributing a diversified mix of branded apparel, wintersports and golf equipment, footwear, accessories and related products.
