In this episode I put two 5’5” “Winged Twin” surfboards shaped by Akila Aipa through the paces in 1-5’ surf.
The Winged Twin is UNLIKE anything I have surfed before. It has Twin Fin speed, with the agility and quickness from rail to rail like a high performance shortboard.

Some of the obvious attributes that separate the Winged Twin is the pulled in nose and tail that offer excellent pivot for performance surfing. The sleek foiled nose design keeps it free from catching from turn to turn and the reduction in surface area in the tail makes for precise pocket surfing.
Order it custom as a Twin Fin or add a center box to shred it as a Twin Fin + Trailer for more control and pivot.
I highly recommend the Winged Twin for intermediate to pro level surfers in 1-6’ surf. For you Thruster guys looking for a high-performance Twin Fin this is it. I suggest ordering it with the center box for surfers who do not shred Twin Fins often.
