Late at night, locals whisper through smoke about the Onza. They share stories of brothers, cousins, friends whose friends, cousins, brothers have seen it. The mythical big cat, prowling alone under the moon, leaving just enough of a trace to stoke the lore. This film follows the tracks of another cat in Mexico. Mikey February. Surfing Mikey February. Technically, the original Dumpster Diver was a short, fat squaretail, which eventually became the Neck Beard. I rode that board in Mexico and really liked it. I was coming home to do the Lowers contest and the forecast looked like it was gonna be waist-chest high, so I wanted to ride the board I’d been riding in Mexico.

Today video is a Great Lakes tribute showcasing the work & attempts it took for me to finally end up in the right place at the right time for the swell of a lifetime on the Great Lakes. To this day surfing the lakes is one of the most fun & enjoyable types of surf trips I take every year. Looking forward to finding more waves in the future. Thanks to all my friends on the freshwater coastlines & everyone who supports what I do. For the Dream!
