Jacobs Surfboards Designed by Mike Purpus 9'2 x 23 x 2 3/4 Collector's Surfboard Available Now at the Surf Station!
This collector's surfboard is from iconic 1960's shaper, Hap Jacobs of Jacobs Surfboards. A Hermosa Beach shaper following the Golden Age of Surfing, Jacobs began making surfboards in 1971. After a short hiatus in response to the decline in popularity in longboard surfing, he returned to the craft in the 1990's.
This shape is designed by former world champion Mike Purpus. Purpus' surfing career began gaining steam in 1967, when he created this model with the help of Hap Jacobs. A team rider since the age of 14, Purpus designed this board to be more maneuverable than the popular noserider models of the era. This particular board is in fair used condition after some restoration work. There is a lot of discoloration overall and the bottom concave resin treatment is likely not original.
**This board is too large to ship via standard carriers such as FedEx or UPS. An LTL Freight carrier will be needed to transport this surfboard. Please email email@example.com if interested in a quote.**
