Surfers have been riding the same twin fin profiles for decades. Either a flat inside face, or an asymmetric 80/20 foil — and for a long time, that was enough.
Today, that changes.
We made the decision to move beyond convention. To invest in genuine research. To ask not ‘what works, but why it works and whether something could work better. That research led us to laminar flow hydrodynamics. In simple terms: most fin foils disturb the water early, creating turbulence and drag. A laminar profile is shaped to do the opposite; it keeps the water moving smoothly and attached to the fin surface for as long as possible. Less disruption. More drive. More control.
This new profile takes this further through its camber. A gentle, intentional curve built into the foil itself starting from the leading edge of the fin. Where a flat or symmetric foil waits for the surfer to load it, a cambered foil is already working. It actively generates lateral force through the turn, building hold from the moment you engage your rail even at lower speed. Think of it less like a rudder, and more like a wing that’s always switched on.
That camber peaks at 40% of the chord length forward of centre, loading the front of the foil first. The result is a fin that builds pressure early in the turn and carries it all the way through, rather than spiking and releasing. That geometry is not an approximation. It is inspired by aerospace and hydrodynamic science and built precisely to it.
The laminar profile delays flow separation. That means sustained, clean drive off the bottom and hold that you can feel through your whole turn, not just the entry. And when the fin does release, it releases on your terms without losing speed.
This twin fin set was developed in direct collaboration with Matt Parker and his team at Album Surfboards. Matt’s understanding of how a twin fin should pivot and project and the balance between release and drive, between looseness and connection shaped every decision we made in translating this design into a twin fin set that delivers speed, balanced pivot and balanced projection. One that rewards rail surfing as much as it rewards speed. One that feels like it was made for the wave.
